When you apply for a mortgage, your lender will want to know as much as you can tell them about your financial situation. You will firstly need to prove your income; producing pay slips and bank statements. If you are self-employed, you will need to provide tax returns and your yearly accounts. You will also need to tell your lender about your outgoings and any debts that you may have. This includes household bills, direct debits, childcare and travel costs.
